Mark Warburton declared Sevco’s 4-1 defeat to Hearts as Simply the Worst.

The former city trader has had plenty of experience of defeats but struggled to come to terms with his second defeat at Tynecastle inside ten weeks.

Last season the coaching guru saw his side lose twice away to Hibs, twice at Falkirk then become the first manager in 114 years to lose a Scottish Cup Final to Hibs.

This season he has been learning lessons from three defeats from Celtic as well as on the road at Tynecastle and Pittodrie.

Despite having such a wealth of experience to draw on Warbo found it almost impossible to work out where it went wrong tonight.

“We’ve just lost 4-1,” STV reported him saying. “We’re Rangers Football Club, we don’t lose 4-1. We did tonight and I feel frustrated, absolutely.

“We weren’t good enough second half. On Saturday against Motherwell, I thought it was as good as we’ve played in 18 months.

“Tonight, second half was as bad as we’ve played in 18 months if not the worst.”

Wacky Warbo added: “I didn’t see it coming. Nobody did, the players or staff. We all have bad days at the office, like last time we were here, but we thought we had learned from the first visit not to give the crowd anything.

“But we gave away schoolboys errors at the start of each half. We have to be better than that.

“To give away those type of goals was unacceptable.”

Tomorrow, after extensive video analysis Warbo will have solved everything and plan on putting the lessons together for the weekend.

One consolation for Warbo was that Celtic beat third placed Aberdeen 1-0.
