Ryan Christie helped Aberdeen into second place in the Premiership with a goal in the 2-0 win over Partick Thistle at Pittodrie.

Throughout the top three divisions in the SPFL Celtic players were in action as they gain valuable experience which will hopefully see them return as first team players.

Christie replaced Shay Logan in the 64th minute and scored in stoppage time as the Dons moved into second place ahead of Sevco on goal difference.

At New Douglas Park Kristoffer Ajer continued to impress as Kilmarnock earned a 1-1 draw away to Hamilton Accies.

Jamie McCart played the full 90 minutes as Inverness Caley Thistle came back from being 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Dundee.

In the Championship Joe Thomson continued his scoring run with a stoppage time strike as Queen of the South beat Morton, including Aidan Nesbitt and Jamie Lindsay, 3-0 at Palmerston.

Also in that division Paul McMullan was substituted midway through the second half as Dunfermline lost 2-0 at Falkirk.

In League One Aidan McIlduff made his Queens Park debut as they drew 2-2 at Hampden with East Fife, there was less joy for Theo Archibald as Albion Rovers lost 3-0 away to Stranraer.

Down in the Lowland League Shaun Bowers and Lewis Bell were in the BSC Glasgow side that lost 4-3 to Cumbernauld Colts after being 4-0 down early in the second half. Broque Watson made his Colts debut as a second half substitute.

South of the border Eoghan O’Connell helped Walsall to a 2-1 win over Northampton to move to four points away from a play-off place.

Leo Fasan had less luck with Port Vale losing 3-0 at home to Peterborough on his EFL debut.
