Nadir Ciftci is expected to join Polish side Pogon Szczecin on loan until the end of the season.

According to a report in The Sun the out of favour Celtic striker is close to completing a deal to join the club who are sitting in seventh place in the Polish League.

Ciftci was close to joining Motherwell on loan during the January transfer window but the move ran out of time with Mark McGhee’s side playing away to Ross County on transfer deadline day.

The former Dundee United striker has appeared as a substitute in Celtic’s last two matches but is well out of the picture under Brendan Rodgers.

Ronny Deila paid Dundee United £1.5m for Ciftci in the summer of 2015 but the transfer never really worked out with the striker moving on loan to Turkish side Eskisehirspor last February.

Former Dundee United team-mate and Celtic transfer target Jaroslaw Fojut is in his second season with Pogon having moved there from Tannadice.

Ciftci is under contract with Celtic until the summer of 2019.
