Twitter slaps down Jason Cundy

Celtic fans on twitter have laughed off the arrogance of Jason Cundy who dismissed the hoops performances this season on talkSPORT.

After writing off winning 26 out of 27 SPFL matches, the other was drawn, the former Chelsea and Spurs defender turned his criticism to living in the west of Scotland before showing himself up by claiming that English League One clubs have got bigger twitter followings than the SPFL champions.

The general consensus among Celtic fans is that Cundy was seeking attention and trying to provoke a reaction for his late night radio show.

On Wednesday night’s show one caller had simply laid out facts as to why Celtic could compete at the top end if they were ever allowed into the English Premier League.

Key to his argument was the fact that all that was required was good management. With the fan-base, a stadium that could be expanded to 80,000 and international appeal Celtic had the infrastructure for success.

In reply Cundy cited how Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle hadn’t won the Premier League title. Two of those clubs have been operating out of stadiums with capacities of just over 40,000 while the third, Newcastle is the blueprint of a management basket-case.

Faced with reasoned arguments Cundy took to the hills, online Celtic fans took his ‘arguments’ apart.
