Former Celt Enrico Annoni enjoyed turning the clock back to 1998 on twitter last night.

When a fan posted a video clip of the after match scenes from Celtic’s title winner against St Johnstone it quickly spread on twitter.

Once it featured on Annoini’s time line he was quick to comment as the memories came flooding back.

Celtic signed Annoni from Roma in February 1997 but his arrival failed to deliver the title with major changes made in the summer with Wim Jansen brought in as manager.

The Coca Cola Cup Final win over Dundee United at Ibrox was wildly celebrated with Annoni donning a memorable green afro wig.

The title race was a three way contest involving Hearts and Rangers (IL) until the closing weeks when Hearts fell away.

After slipping up with a 1-1 draw at Dunfermline Celtic had to win at home to St Johnstone to win the league or hope that Rangers (IL) lost out to Dundee United.

A 2-0 win made the events at Tannadice meaningless with wild scenes of celebration around Celtic Park as a new era was opened in the club’s history.
