Craig Bellamy’s finest match

It was short, at times sweet but ultimately disappointing. Craig Bellamy and Celtic.

After a fall out with Graeme Souness the Welshman joined Celtic on loan on the final day of the January transfer window.

Henrik Kamara and Juninho had failed to fill the massive gap left by Henrik Larsson but the departure of the Swede to Barcelona had taken an edge off the whole squad.

Bellamy certainly created a buzz with his arrival- bringing energy and bite to the Celtic side but with his pace came hamstring problems.

Exactly 12 years ago the Welshman had his finest 90 minutes in a Celtic shirt with an incredible display and hat-trick against Dundee United.

There was something special about every goal as the away support got a new idol to drool over.

At the end of his loan spell he only had a Scottish Cup winners medal to take back south of the border as he resumed his career at Blackburn with further stops at West Ham and Manchester City before finishing his career back home with Cardiff.
