Emilio Izaguirre and Cristian Gamboa are still on course for a place in the World Cup Finals in Russia next year.

Celtic’s back up full-backs played out a 1-1 draw in the early hours of this morning with the visitors, Costa Rica happier with the point that maintains second place in the six team qualifying group.

Antony Lozano opened the scoring for Honduras ten minutes from half time but that was cancelled out in the 68th minute by Kendall Waston.

Both Celtic men played the full 90 minutes and will travel back to Glasgow today to begin preparations for Sunday’s match at Tynecastle.

Mexico top the group with 10 points, three ahead of Costa Rica and look certain to clinch one of the three qualifying places.

Trinidad look out of contention with just three points from four matches with the other four nations battling for two more places in Russia.

The next batch of matches are on June 8 and 13- less than a month before Celtic’s opening Champions League qualifier for next season.
