Moussa Dembele has been reassured that he is still very much in the thoughts of French boss Didier Deschamps.

The Celtic striker has missed out on a call up to the full international squad this week but Deschamps is hardly struggling for strikers.

For Saturday’s match away to Luxembourg the former Chelsea midfielder can select from- Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund), Kevin Gameiro (Sevilla FC), Olivier Giroud (Arsenal), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (Monaco), Dimitri Payet (Marseille) and Florian Thauvin (Marseille).

Dembele was voted 2016 u-21 Player of the Year for France with his 32 goal season with Celtic being closely followed.

Moussa has made progress with Celtic,” Deschamps said. “It is obvious he is going to be able to continue, to be able to perform well and to continue to progress.

There are a lot of offensive players that we follow regularly and will continue to do so.”

Kylian Mappe will be the most watched French striker over the weekend with the 18-year-old starring in Monaco’s Champions League exploits.

With 11 goals since the start of February, including strikes home and away against Manchester City the young striker is certain to be the focus of summer transfer activity.
