Dave King has fired a warning to the Daily Record by excluding the Glasgow based newspaper from his departing media conference.

During his two day flying visit to Glasgow the South African based criminal made the usual sound-bites which mostly contradicted reality.

Despite an adverse ruling from the Takeover Appeal Board, King claimed that he was considering his options on the order to make an offer of 20p for each remaining share.

If he can’t find a NOMAD and £7m to underwrite that offer by April 12 the current difficult position of the company will be a picnic as they are cold shouldered by every UK financial institution- even Metro Bank.

Over a dozen newspapers were invited to pass on the upbeat message that all is well but missing was the newspaper praised by Paul Murray for it’s courageous journalism in it’s reporting of the tribute act.

As recently as Wednesday the Record was telling it’s readers about the profit the club had made in the first six month despite the accounts showing a loss of £300,000 and a soft loan of £2.7m.

While their competitors ran with various stories by their journalists from their audience with King the Record had to fall back to ‘RECORD SPORT ONLINE’.

The Record has picked up on the King interviews from elsewhere including a whopper on talkSPORT when he claimed that the previous club had the biggest retail operation in Britain- that’ll be news to Manchester United!

Today’s Record hotline highlights some comments critical of King, it remains to be seen if Paul Murray’s favourite newspaper continues that way
