Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has slammed Bobby Madden’s decision not to award Celtic a penalty when Clint Hill booted Leigh Griffiths round the waist.
Discussing the incident on Sky Sports News this morning Gallagher explained why it was a penalty and why Madden never awarded the penalty.
With Griffiths poised to shoot Hill clattered in from behind in a desperate bid to stop the Celtic striker getting a shot at goal from 15 yards out.

Madden was directly behind the clash and had no real angle on the contact between the two players- all he could see was the back of Hill.
As a referee on the FIFA list the East Kilbride based whistler should have been in a better position to view the incident however earlier in the match he had failed to respond appropriately to incidents involving Kenny Miller and Jason Holt.
After the match Hill told Brendan Rodgers that he had ‘got away with one’.
