King on the quiet

Dave King spent less than two hours inside Ibrox yesterday and again dodged away from talking to the media.

Late last night a story appeared on the club website featuring a picture of King with Brother Pedro shaking hands over two empty plates in what looks like a club restaurant. Neither man was wearing a tie or club blazer.

This season Sky Sports has been the only outside media organisation given direct access to the South African based criminal as the Sevco season crumbles on a series of broken promises.

King has attended just one match this term and failed to turn up for the emotional Loving Cup ceremony which even Craig Whyte and Charles Green managed to honour.

While meeting Brother Pedro and tales of investment and war-chests will be prominent over the next few days much heavier matters are being discussed behind the scenes.

By April 12 the South African based criminal has to find a NOMAD and the funds to underwrite a 20p offer to buy out every shareholder.

King is notorious for avoiding rules and regulations, failing to comply with the demand from the Takeover Panel will have disastrous consequences for the company and his partners in the concert party operation- Douglas Park, George Letham and George Taylor.

Rangers TV will be granted an interview with King but the big questions will go unasked with the club likely to be unrecognisable by Easter time.

Before taking control of the company King could barely resist talking up his investment plans, getting in and out of taxis he was always good for a quote while managing the carefully arranged airport arrival interviews.
