Rogic set for reserve test

|

Tom Rogic is set to play his first game of the year tomorrow when Celtic take on Inverness Caley Thistle in the Development League at Lennoxtown.

The midfielder injured an ankle before Christmas then required surgery in January after a training ground set-back.

After two weeks training he’ll play in the Development League match tomorrow with a view to being available for Sunday’s Premiership match away to Hearts.

Rogic’s return after more than three months out of action will be a timely boost ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final against Sevco on April 23.

Celtic have effectively put the 24-year-old through a pre-season programme that will prepare him for the end of season Confederations Cup and Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers in July.

Tommy McIntyre’s side go into tomorrow’s match locked in a six way battle to win the title.

Celtic are seven points behind joint leaders Ross County and Hamilton Accies with three matches in hand on Accies and two on Ross County with Hibs and Motherwell also ahead of the hoops.
