Sevco fans group Club 1872 has been torn apart with three directors walking away over a blazer chasing row.

Iain Leiper, Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival have resigned together, but not as a concert party, with leading window cleaner Craig Houston one of the four remaining directors.

News of the split comes at the worst possible time with further soft loans required for March and Dave King having until April 12 to put together £8m to comply with the ruling of the Takeover Panel.

Elections for Club 1872, which isn’t named after the previous number of fans groups, were held in September 2016 shortly after former Labour MP Brian Donohoe walked away concerned that the group was acting as cheerleaders to the current regime rather than acting independently.

Rangers First was launched in a blaze of glory in January 2015 with the main purpose of supporting South African based criminal King in his bid to take control of the company.

Over 10,000 members joined up but it’s believed that less than 1,000 are still donating an £18.72 Direct Debit towards the company .

One of King’s first moves was to appoint Chris Graham as a NED but that lasted less than 48 hours as details of his murky past came to light.

With the offer of blazers and a sup from the Loving Cup Rangers First and The Rangers Trust were merged into one with dissenters- and independent thought- over King’s broken promises wiped out overnight.

In contrast, the Foundation of Hearts has over 10,000 contributing members with the timeline for their goal of owning the club being reduced.
