Warbo’s warning

Mark Warburton has warned Dave King that he won’t drop his compensation claim despite taking the Nottingham Forest job.

Last month the former city trader was informed that he had resigned and was booted out of Ibrox without a pay off.

After having his credibility torn apart in a statement issued by Dave King, Warbo fought back with a statement issued through the League Managers Association.

Warbo, David Weir and Frank McParland had more than two years left to run on their Ibrox deals and will be looking to get those contracts paid up in full.

It wasn’t pleasant at times at the end there,” the former Ibrox boss told Sky Sports News. “I’m sure in the fullness of time all the details will come out.

There is a legal process underway so it wouldn’t be appropriate to make comment now.”

If King had put the trio on gardening leave he’d only have had to pay out one month of salary, if Warbo’s claim is held up Sevco will have to pay off the remaining 28 months on the three contracts.

Forest are currently sitting in fifth bottom place in the Championship two points ahead of third bottom Bristol City with 11 matches left to play.
