What’s happening with the loan bhoys?

When he took over from Ronny Deila in the summer one of the first things that Brendan Rodgers had to address was the bloated first team squad that he inherited.

Half a dozen players quickly departed, including Charlie Mulgrew and Anthony Stokes, as the Irishman assessed and revived the squad with minimal transfer activity.

Moving players on is never an easy task with a number of players sitting with a couple of seasons left on their contract with little prospect of first team action.

It’s generally accepted that it takes a manager four transfer windows to fully put his stamp on the squad with the loan market the easiest way to move players on.

While Jamie McCart and Kristoffer Ajer are getting priceless experience in the Premiership other loan players are struggling to make an impact and highly unlikely to barge their way back into Rodgers’ plans.

With an international break upon us I’ve raked through the web to find out what has been going on with the loan bhoys, Efe Ambrose seems to be enjoying himself at Hibs with Neil Lennon but elsewhere there’s not much to laugh about.
