Brendan Rodgers hasn’t ruled Moussa Dembele out of the Scottish Cup Final on May 27.

The striker suffered a first half hamstring injury in the 2-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Sevco.

Dembele has five weeks to recover for the final but in reality he’d need to play in the last SPFL match of the season against Hearts to be in contention for a place at Hampden.

With 32 goals the former Fulham man has had a massive impact on Celtic’s season with Rodgers not prepared to write him out of the Hampden show-piece.

He gets his scan so we’ll wait for the extent of that,” the Celtic boss told talkSPORT. “Talking to the medical team after it these things sometimes happen.

We’ll wait for the grading to see where we’re at, we’ve still got five weeks till the final, there’s still a good possibility that he could make it. We’ll see how it goes.”

Leigh Griffiths came off the bench to replace Dembele and now has an opportunity to make a real impact on the season.

The former Hibs striker will start Saturday’s match against Sevco at Ibrox and will be first choice for the remaining games of the season with Jack Aitchison as back up.

Aitchison was the match winner in last week’s Glasgow Cup Final win over Sevco at Firhill.
