That Hampden interview of Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller’s Hampden farewell was an afternoon that the former Scotland striker would rather forget.

Trying to stem the tide as Celtic enjoyed 75% first half possession was a task too far for Miller as his highly paid team-mates struggled to keep the ball in play during rare bursts of possession.

With the skipper’s armband on Miller managed to get his side to mount a couple of token attacks in the second half as Celtic dropped a gear or two after going 2-0 up.

After the final whistle Miller gave his thoughts on the match to the club TV channel who unfortunately were unable to drown out the sound of ‘The Celtic Song’ in the background.

As reality dawned that there would be no return for the Scottish Cup Final next month the frustration was obvious in the 37-year-old.

By the time Aberdeen and Celtic walk out at the National Stadium next month Miller will have confirmation that there is no new contract from Ibrox.

With Aberdeen and Hibs reportedly interested in the pacey frontman Miller could be back at Hampden wearing a red and white scarf hoping to see someone else stopping Celtic’s treble bid.
