Stuart Armstrong can’t get enough big games.

The midfielder started the season looking on from the bench but has forced his way into Brendan Rodgers’ side and became one of the most influential players in the team.

Armstrong was at his best at Hampden on Sunday as Celtic booked their place in the final of the Scottish Cup with a comfortable win over Sevco.

Since the dust settled on that match the message from Ibrox has been about ‘get-intae-them’ as their fans face upto the prospect of another humbling defeat.

Armstrong has played a lead role in the last couple of derby clashes and can’t wait to get into the thick of the action again.

I wouldn’t describe it (semi-final) as an easy game, as they never are,” the midfielder told the Celtic website. “It was a big game, a big semi-final and a lot of pressure on it, and I thought we played very well and controlled the game in parts and got what we came for – a place in the final.

You can never predict how a team will play but it will be a tough place to go. They will want to win as much as we do and it will be tough. We don’t really think about the opposition in the sense that we think more about ourselves and how we can best operate from game to game, and that’s worked quite well for us.

We don’t think about what each game means, it’s all about playing each for what it is and for three points. When it gets to the end of the reason, we can reflect on it.”

In Celtic’s last visit to Ibrox Armstrong provided the pass for Scott Sinclair to score the winning goal, in his last Dundee United appearance at the stadium he was on the scoresheet with Nadir Ciftci and Gary Mackay Steven as United beat Sevco 3-1 to reach the 2014 Scottish Cup Final.
