After the wobble against Partick Thistle the hoops looked more like themselves in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

Clinching a title early on is always good news but does produce a problem in the remaining fixtures but there are enough targets plus the demands of Brendan Rodgers to keep the players going at full strength.

The return of Tom Rogic is certainly good news with the Australian filling the attacking midfield role perfectly. With his availability Stuart Armstrong can be pushed back to partner Scott Brown with Callum McGregor waiting for an opening.

Sunday’s trip to Ross County will be a strange fixture with everything geared towards the following weekends, two games against Sevco within six days will define the season- two wins will set the team up for the best ever domestic campaign.

Rodgers certainly knows the history, if any players don’t then they’ll soon get the message about what is at stake- in other countries winning two trophies would be enough- with Celtic it just leads to what is next.

Over the next six weeks it’s all there for the taking. By definition history making doesn’t come along too often, there’s no shortage of incentives for the bhoys to deliver.

UNBEATEN

After 32 matches unbeaten the hoops have got six more hurdles to overcome.

Ross County on Sunday could be tricky with the homeside battling for safety and knowing that they have been given just 18 home matches with the announcement of the post split fixtures.

Sevco and Aberdeen away are the most obvious games to come unstuck but on past form if the team is in the right mindset they should live up to their favourites tag in each match.

THE SCOTTISH CUP

Let’s hope that there are two games still to come, next Sunday’s semi-final will have a massive bearing on the remainder of the season.

After the 1-1 draw in the league there can be no complacency, there won’t be much in our favour at Hampden but the players know that in advance and have to be at their very best.

A repeat of the Hampden performance in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup should be enough to do the trick.

THE TON

With 85 goals from 32 matches the hoops are on coarse to hit the 100 mark but the remaining matches with the exception of Sunday is against the best teams in the country.

Having said that the hoops have scored five against Hearts, St Johnstone and Sevco and managed fours against Aberdeen and Thistle.

Knocking in a couple of goals per game could leave it interesting for the final match at home to Hearts, if they need five or six to hit the 100 who’d bet against more punishment for Cathro’s side ahead of hopefully a cup final.
