Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn are confident of winning the SPFL title next season but John Hartson reckons they are deranged.

It doesn’t take much to raise delusions across the Sevco with a shot at goal or a corner in a semi-final to enough to talk up talk of a title challenge.

By tea-time today second place could be beyond the tribute act of Celtic and Aberdeen win today leaving Brother Pedro’s side in third place with four matches left to play.

A fifth defeat from Celtic won’t boost season ticket sales but that won’t stop the spin machine as they relaunch #goingfor55 and some tacky attempt to talk up the Europa League which is likely to be a brief experience followed by sobering UEFA financial sanctions.

At the start of the season John Hartson predicted that the Ibrox side would finish fourth and after narrowly getting that tip wrong the Welshman has another sobering prediction for the Ibrox support.

“RANGERS fans are living in la-la land if they think they’re capable of challenging Celtic any time soon,” he writes in The Sun.

“They’re deranged if they believe things are going to be different this time next year.
Celtic are so far in front right now they can’t even see them in their rear-view mirror.

“Player for player there isn’t one single man at Ibrox who would get into the Celtic squad let alone the team.

“Last weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final was a procession it was so easy. Scott Brown was sensational and rightly man of the match but it was a walk in the park for him but their supporters still seem to think their man Pedro Caixinha is going to transform them over the summer and turn them into title challengers.

“Honestly, it’s laughable. The table doesn’t lie and it shows that there are 33 points between the two teams. That’s 11 matches!

“Listen, Rangers could win this game – it’s possible. In a one-off game anything can happen and there’s no doubt the Ibrox home crowd make it very difficult for Celtic teams when they go there.
