Brendan Rodgers will deftly side step the ‘mind games’ of Brother Pedro when he meets the media today to preview Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

In another desperate attempt to appear relevant the Sevco boss challenged Rodgers to name his side 48 hours ahead of Sunday’s clash.

What benefit anyone gets from such a stunt is anyone’s guess with a wise coach keeping his players on edge through two more training sessions before naming his starting XI.

To contrast the two clubs Caixinha has the depressing choice of selecting between David Bates and Clint Hill while Rodgers decides whether to start with Patrick Roberts or James Forrest!

Briefed from the same source that told him he had the best squad in Scotland Brother Pedro told his Thursday media conference: “I could name the team or if you have Brendan’s mobile number you can call him and we could read out our teams at the same time!

I have no problem with that – if he agrees we will place the names on the table at the same time.”

Rodgers will spend the next two days working on more important matters than requests from the fifth best coach in Qatar.

With two trophies in the bag already, success on Sunday will leave the Irishman one match away from picking up a treble in his first season in charge of Celtic while also reaching the group stage of the Champions League.
