Five years after formation Mark Warburton has warned Sevco fans to prepare for 10-in-a-row.

This time last year the former city trader could do no wrong as he led the push for season ticket sales pushing the #goingfor55 slogan to the gullibles.

Joey Barton and Nico Kranjcar were drafted in alongside the eighth wonder of the world- Jordan Rossiter who was billed as a mixture of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard with the subtle touch around goal of Filip Sebo.

The people rallied behind Warbo but after a 5-1 hammering from Celtic reality set in with Barton paid off for telling the former city trader of his managerial shortcomings.

Six weeks after being resigned from Ibrox Warbo was able to speak feely about the basket case club- on the day that Brendan Rodgers committed himself to 10-in-a-row.

You can’t go and buy a £10million striker and hope it works,” explained the man that signed Joey Garner. “You have to recognise there is a job at hand and it won’t happen overnight.

When we left I think we were one point off second place, and second for the bulk of it, and in good shape. So from our perspective it was a successful time. We enjoyed it and we just wish the club well going forward.

The rivalry is intense up there. You have a band of Rangers fans who have been brought up on domestic and European success.

Quite understandably the expectation is so high at such a fantastic club, but you have to be realistic. Celtic have had Champions League football for the past few years, they have built the club, they have a sound financial base and it will take time.”

Perhaps if Warbo had used his city background to explain liquidation to the people things may not have been so stressful with Brother Pedro now shouldering the outrageous expectations of the gullible.
