Celtic fans have every reason to feel optimistic going into the summer transfer window thanks to the positive noises coming from their star players. After a sensational season that has seen the team remain unbeaten throughout, the big Premier League clubs are bound to come knocking. It could mean the club will have to spend the summer fending off these admirers, as stars like Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair will be in high demand. But fans should be buoyed by recent comments from the players.

Tierney, who has been linked with Arsenal after winning Young Player of the Year again, was bullish when asked if he sees his immediate future with the Bhoys. “It’s a great place to be and I’m really enjoying it right now,” he said. “There’s a cabinet I’ve got for medals and trophies. It’s getting full, but I hope I can keep filling it.”

Sinclair, who won Player of the Year, was equally keen to commit his future to the club after struggling for game time at Man City. “I’m in no rush to leave here,” he said. “I’ve had all these moves before. I moved to City and it didn’t work out. I went to Villa and got relegated. Now I’m enjoying playing every week, scoring goals, being back to my best. Why would I want to ruin that?”

“All I’m looking at is enjoying every single moment and building into next season, improving my game and coming back even stronger. I’ve found my happiness and I’m enjoying every minute at Celtic and I wouldn’t think of a reason to leave.”

He is looking forward to playing Champions League football next season and said he does not see Celtic as a stepping-stone to another big Premier League club. With his creative endeavour, the Bhoys should be a shoo-in for another title next season. A Betonline review of the lines and a search through various sites shows that Celtic are just 1/10 to win the league next season, an extremely low set of odds that are testament to Celtic’s sheer dominance this season.

The team acquitted themselves pretty well in the Champions League, but if they can keep the bones of this title-winning side and add quality in the summer they could get out of the group stage. If they manage that, Celtic Park could become a much more attractive destination for stars from around the world. The club would not be seen as a stepping stone but an appealing destination in its own right. Keeping Dembele would help matters greatly. He has been deadly in front of goal and is still young, so could lead the line at Celtic for years. Sadly it looks as though his head has been turned, and with Man Utd and Chelsea circling the club could lose this prize asset. But Celtic’s business in the transfer market last season was very shrewd, and could be even better this time around with a £20 million war chest from the sale of Dembele. The club have been linked with Dani Gomez of Real Madrid as a replacement, and that seems the right way to go – get a promising star hungry for game time and he will relish the chances served up for him by Sinclair.
