Celebrate 67 at the Hydro

Celtic’s greatest triumph was celebrated in style at the SECC Hydro last night.

Rod Stewart was the headline act honouring Celtic’s greatest ever team and moment with some of the biggest names in the club’s history among the audience.

Current boss Brendan Rodgers sat alongside Alex Ferguson with former managers Martin O’Neill, Kenny Dalglish, Gordon Strachan and Neil Lennon also in attendance.

As ever though it was the fans that made the occasion as the special Celtic atmosphere moved indoors.

Some modern songs alongside old favourites were sung enthusiastically in a lightening atmosphere that captured the magic of the club and that special moment 50 years ago.

It was a very different Glasgow to the city that welcomed back a group of largely local boys half a century ago.

With each passing year the brilliance of the Lions grows stronger with their legacy inspiring rather than overwhelming subsequent teams.

As he took in the scenes, sights and sounds Rodgers won’t require much for his team talk on Saturday.

The mix of the old and the new makes Celtic special with further history waiting to be written if the bhoys can lift the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
