The 67th minutes of matches this season won’t be forgotten- now will the Lisbon Lions.

Since autumn time Celtic fans have been commemorating their side’s greatest afternoon with a ‘torchlight’ salute as they sing ‘In the Heat of Lisbon’.

Today’s final match of the season brought something a little different with the Green Brigade literally exploding into life.

A giant green and white banner was unfurled, torches were lit and green smoke bellowed out as the ‘heat’ of Lisbon was brought to life 50 years on in Glasgow’s east end.

Back in 67 Jock Stein’s side had just clinched their second title as they flew out to Portugal.

The Celts won’t be at this season’s Champions League Final but Brendan Rodgers side carved out their own piece of history to beat Hearts 2-0 to complete the SPFL campaign unbeaten.

On Saturday they have the opportunity to lift the Scottish Cup and pay fitting tribute to the Lions with a domestic treble.
