Celtic’s Hampden gallery

For the 37th time Celtic lifted the Scottish Cup.

Throughout 129 seasons the Cup has been a good friend of the club as they revel in the never say die spirit that has driven on so many unlikely successes.

After winning the Betfred Cup in the autumn the Premiership was done and dusted by new year with just one draw blotting the copybook.

From Albion Rovers through to Sevco the attitude in the Scottish Cup has been spot on with nothing left to rest.

At Hampden history beckoned in the 47th domestic fixture of the season. Aberdeen threatened when Jonny Hayes opened the scoring but Stuart Armstrong quickly equalised.

The loss of Kieran Tierney was a blow but this Celtic side wasn’t to be denied, it wasn’t silky football but they were relentless as Aberdeen’s early energy sapped away.

Celtic pushed and pushed, backed and roared on by the fans until Tom Rogic delivered the goal that will be celebrated throughout the summer and beyond.

For only the fourth time all three domestic trophies are housed at Celtic Park, it’ll take a big effort from someone to topple the hoops as Brendan Rodgers plans ahead for further successes.

Our glorious leader

Sporting the wet look Brendan clutches the Scottish Cup.

Who could have guessed what the next 13 months would hold after the misery of last season’s penalty kick exit to Sevco?

He came to lead the green and white- and id it in great style- he’s here for 10-in-a-row!

Celtic to the core

He spilt blood for the jersey following a cowardly strike from Hayden Stockley.

KT deserved a medal as much as anyone, over two seasons he has been outstanding providing everything that you would want despite not being out of his teens.

There will be other days for him to enjoy- and savour the full 90 minutes on the pitch rather than with his mates in the stand.

You’ll Never Walk Alone

These two were incredible.

Brown barely lost a challenge while McGregor dropped to left-back and didn’t weaken the side that had just lost Kieran Tierney.

As Celtic pushed for a winner these two held the backline, forcing the team forward, probing and demanding until Rogic’s breakthrough goal.

Celebration time

Before they had collected their medals and the trophy the players were celebrating.

They’ve had plenty of practise recently from clinching the title at Tynecastle, back to back wins over Sevco, the SPFL presentation and now the Scottish Cup.

Thirty-seven times Celtic have won the Scottish Cup, every time new heroes and stories emerge as the show keeps on rolling on.

This is how it feels to be Celtic

They made history.

In the week that the Lisbon Lions were celebrated the current side made their own piece of  history.

Who could dare to dream after last season’s Scottish Cup misery that this season would be so successful?

With 100 domestic trophies collected who would back against 101, 102 and 103 being collected next season?
