Incredible Hampden images

They’ll be remembered forever as Celtic’s Invincibles.

Over the last 129 years Celtic have been battling against the odds for trophies but only the class of 2017 has completed a domestic campaign unbeaten.

No side will ever compare with the Lisbon Lions but they did lose home and away to Dundee United as they claimed all five trophies in their never to be forgotten or emulated season of joy.

There has been a few moments of concern on the way to winning the title but an iron will and unbreakable desire to succeed have taken them to heights that no one other than Kolo Toure was predicting in pre-season.

Yesterday at Hampden they survived a few scares. Jonny Hayes put Aberdeen in front but Stuart Armstrong quickly equalised.

Bobby Madden was always going to be a problem to overcome, his comments about Leigh Griffiths on the eve of the match confirmed the arrogance of a man out to draw attention to himself.

His failure to spot Hayden Stockley’s attack on Kieran Tierney was entirely predictable but Celtic refused to buckle, they increased the pressure as the second half developed then with immaculate timing Tom Rogic created history and memories that will be celebrated for years to come.

Yes, yes, yes!

His eye for goal has never been in doubt and the big occasion seems to bring out the best in him.

It’s not been easy for Rogic at Celtic but he has never buckled and took his chance to write his name into the history books with a brilliant run and execution- perfectly timed.

Callum and Dedryck

It’s all too much for Dedryck but Callum just can’t get enough.

Two fantastic examples of the Rodgers effect, McGregor was outstanding at left back, giving Aberdeen no encouragement and pushing forward at every opportunity- his medal is well deserved.

For the boss

Slightly bedraggled but no doubt delighted the boss makes it a clean sweep of trophy successes.

Like Martin O’Neill a generation earlier the Irishman has utterly transformed the team and the squad to devastating effect.

Whew!

It wasn’t a Sebo moment but I don’t think Kenny McLean will sleep very soundly for a few nights.

Early in the second half he was presented with the sort of chance you dream of but he tied his legs in knots and the chance was missed, the rest is history.

Tommy time

The tension is over, Rogic accepts the adoration of the Celtic support.

He scored a memorable winner last season at Kilmarnock, his Hampden winner will be celebrated and enjoyed for years to come.
