The strange case of Ryan Jack

They’ve not been close to a trophy all season but it seems that Sevco are doing their best to hand the Scottish Cup to Celtic.

The arrogance of Brother Pedro is already on a par with Mark Warburton but even Warbo might have shown a little respect for a club preparing for the final of the Scottish Cup.

Rather than quietly shrug it off as speculation Caixinha decided to go overboard in his praise for Ryan Jack before Aberdeen’s visit to Ibrox last week.

Jack was booed and jeered by a section of the Aberdeen support during their 6-0 win over Partick Thistle on Sunday.

This afternoon Aberdeen announced that Jack has been stripped of the club captaincy with Andrew Shinnie getting the armband for Hampden.

After scoring nine goals at Ibrox and Firhill, Aberdeen should be heading back to Glasgow this weekend with confidence and belief.

Instead, thanks to the workings of the easy to identify Ibrox spin operation, they’ll travel to Glasgow with a black sheep in their midst.

Will Ryan Jack shift a single season ticket for Sevco?

Derek McInnes has had his achievements undermined to deflect away from the troubles at Ibrox. Perhaps they picked the wrong man to replace Warbo?

While the Scottish football fraternity refuse to even discuss Financial Fair Play it’s easy to suggest that they deserve everything that they get.

As Jack prepares for his career to go down the pan with Halliday, Holt and O’Halloran perhaps Celtic should salute their city neighbours for making a tough job for Saturday’s opponents almost impossible.
