Three Celts to take Aberdeen apart

Aberdeen got a taste of it in the opening stages at Pittodrie earlier this month- on Saturday they’ll have their hands full trying to keep Celtic’s attacking options at bay.

Eleven minutes into that match and Celtic were three goals up. True the Dons came back to an extent and made a game of it but their threat was nothing compared to the lightening execution of the visitors.

On form no one in Scotland can live with the Celtic strike force as the final league table confirms.

Five times this season Brendan Rodgers’ side have got the better of the Dons, whatever Derek McInnes comes up with the Celtic boss has already moved on with something fresh and new.

Winning the trophy is everything on Saturday but it would be fitting, in the spirit of the Lisbon Lions, if Celtic lift the trophy turning on the style.

Scoring 106 goals on the way to collecting 106 points more than acknowledges the DNA of the club. Going into the summer there would be no more apt send off to the season than for the team to hit top gear with three key men turning on the style.

SCOTTY SINCLAIR v SHAY LOGAN

The gobby defender may have thought he was a big shot bouncing the ball off Leigh Griffiths at Pittodrie but that little act may well return to haunt him on Saturday.

Sinclair doesn’t need any extra motivation but after missing out on the Betfred Cup Final through injury he’ll be out to ensure that he leaves Hampden with a winners medal.

The former Aston Villa man has lit up the Scottish Cup with his goals going back to the opening match away to Albion Rovers where he netted with that signature effort cutting in from the left then curling a right foot shot into the postage stamp corner of the net.

Logan should be in for a highly memorable day.

LEIGH GRIFFITHS v ASH TAYLOR

Griffiths has a good scoring record against the Dons and was highly involved in the SPFL win at Pittodrie earlier this month.

In among pinging in a few deadly set pieces he scored the third goal of the night with the home defence finding the former Hibs man too hot to handle.

After losing in successive cup finals with Hibs his Celtic debut was in a cup defeat to the Dons.

He barely had time to break sweat during a two minute appearance in the final of the Betfred Cup but he made a telling impact in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup and will relish the chance to get his hands on the trophy that he watched Hibs win 12 months ago.

PATRICK ROBERTS v ANDY CONSIDINE

Since being given a starting role in the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Sevco the on loan Manchester City winger has found an extra gear.

His bravery can easily be overlooked, he needed it in buckets for the semi-final as Willie Collum took pity on the bamboozled Sevco defenders.

Game by game he has become more influential, Saturday could be his final game in a Celtic jersey which provides the perfect platform to sign off in style.

Considine is a centre-half trying to fill in at left-back, Saturday could become very very uncomfortable as Roberts hits the heights.
