Martyn Waghorn is a transfer target for Scunthorpe United.

According to a report in The Sun the chunky striker is wanted by former Scotland defender Graham Alexander who is now in charge of the League One outfit.

Waghorn has a year left on his contract and has failed to make any impact in the Premiership after scoring for fun in the Championship.

With Pedro Caixinha looking to gut the squad that he inherited from Mark Warburton it seems certain the former Sunderland striker will be on his way out of Ibrox.

Last summer Waghorn turned down the offer of a contract extension while most of Warbo’s squad signed three and four year extensions.

Caixinha is hoping to make wholesale changes to his squad over the summer but has so far failed to move anyone out or get any pre-contract deals completed.

It’s believed that Sevco are holding out for £150,000 for Waggers but Scunthorpe are reluctant to go into six figures for the striker.
