Neil McCann looks to be on his way back to Sky Sports after watching Dundee crash 4-0 at Hamilton Accies.

After winning his first two matches as manager McCann watched Dundee lose to the bottom two clubs in the Premiership and avoid relegation by three points.

After sacking Paul Hartley Dundee turned to their former player for the post split fixtures with McCann taking a break from his Sky Sports commitments.

The Dundee job was on a temporary basis, after the initial elation of back-to-back wins it seems that the former Scotland winger is hankering back to the life under the studio lights with David Tanner.

Asked if today’s defeat would make a return to Sky more appealing he told the BBC: “Maybe. I have to take into consideration all of the five games.

“And I’m a Sky employee. They’ve allowed me to come out of this job to do this one and the objective has been met. I’ve managed to keep the club in the Premiership but that’s not the way I wanted to finish the season. That was not acceptable.

“I’m not in a position to discuss my future right now. I’m still hurting about that result.

“That’s something that I’m going to carry now for a long time because that’s not something you want to be associated with.”

Dundee’s defeat at Hamilton means that Accies will go into a play-off against Dundee United for the final spot in next season’s Premiership.

Despite beating Motherwell 3-2 to finish the season with two victories Inverness Caley Thistle have been relegated to the Championship with boss Richie Foran blaming relegation on two or three bad apples in his squad.
