Linfield will be given 1,500 tickets to Celtic park if they see off Fiorita of San Marino in the first round.

Celtic have still to make a statement but it seems certain that they will turn down the offer of tickets for Windsor Park.

When the date of a football match is determined by allowing locals to demonstrate their hatred for Catholics it seems sensible for a club with strong Irish Catholic links to avoid taking supporters into such an area.

The allocation of 1,500 tickets to Linfield should keep out the more poisonous day-tripping element of their support although after a day spent in certain pubs in the Glasgow area their song book may put them in bother with UEFA.

With a 5pm kick off on Friday July 14 Linfield will be able to sell the television rights to the match which will top up their income from UEFA and ticket sales.

Best of luck to Fiorita, San Marino is a much more pleasant prospect, if they progress they will be the most welcome visitors ever inside Celtic Park.
