Paul McMullan has joined Dundee United.

The 21-year-old joined Celtic straight from school and impressed with his hard work in the penalty box and eye for goal.

After going on loan to Stenhousemuir in January 2015 a loan to St Mirren at the start of the 2015/16 season proved less successful when Alex Rae took over as manager with McMullan returning to Celtic and a short loan at Morton.

Last season’s loan to Dunfermline earned him a call up to the Scotland u-21 side but it was obvious that his future lay away from Celtic Park.

Today’s move to Dundee United sees him link up with another couple of former Celts in James Keatings and Lewis Toshney.

Last season United lost out to Hamilton in the final of the play-off with Ray McKinnon’s squad among the favourites for promotion.

After starting out as a striker McMullan’s was used by Dunfermline mainly as a winger.
