Kristoffer Ajer has been called up into the Norway u-21 squad for the European Championship qualifier away to Kosovo on June 12.

Celtic signed the teenager from Start in February 2016 but before he had the chance to work with Ronny Deila he had been replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

Ajer has been a regular youth team internationalist with his inclusion in the squad for Kosovo his first time at u-21 level.

After being converted from a midfielder to a central defender by Rodgers, Ajer featured in a few pre-season friendlies but spent the first part of the season playing for the Celtic development side.

In January the young Norwegian moved on loan to Kilmarnock where he made 14 appearances firstly under Lee Clark and then Lee McCulloch.

With McCulloch expected to be confirmed as the permanent manager he is expected to request that Ajer returns to Kilmarnock on loan from the start of next season.
