One man that seems never far from the crimes of Ibrox is Andrew Dickson.
His name never cropped up during the Craig Whyte trial as Paul Murray, Dave King and Alastair Johnston were slaughtered but the pasty faced man in the shadows of power knows where all of the bodies are buried.
Over more than a decade he has managed the deceit of the football authorities and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
Those that know the committee chambers of Scottish football won’t be surprised to find Dicko sitting on the Scottish FA Football Regulatory Advisory Group.
As he takes his seat Dickson is smirking at the representatives of every club in the land having played a leading role in denying their clubs success for over a decade.
Explaining in forensic details the deeds of Dicko, CQN report: “It is safe to believe that in April 2005 Mr Dickson was in the room with the DOS EBTS and played a part in the denial of the existence of those side letters, especially when by then he had handled a number of ebts with side letters in his capacity as a football administrator.”
For Scottish football to stand any prospect of progress Dickson needs charged with multiple charges of bringing the game into disrepute.
The big shots at Duff & Phelps alongside Craig Whyte have escaped the net. Dickson isn’t just inside the tent he is networking his way to power.
In November 2015 Ibrox chief Stewart Robertson admitted: “Andrew is already on a couple of key committees. The next stage will be to get onto the SPFL board and in due course the SFA board, so these are steps we definitely want to take.”
Apart from Dickson the biggest problem Scottish football faces is the lack of backbone and morals across the board at every club.
When the next insolvency event occurs the custodians need only look in the mirror to find the real guilty people.
