Deluded Derek Johnstone believes that Celtic have fallen for the bait over Dave King’s two-in-a-row claim.

The Evening Times pundit is a dedicated follower of whatever regime is in place at Ibrox and tipped Mark Warburton to take last season’s title to Ibrox.

After claiming in a club TV interview that Celtic had only won two titles in a row due to the absence of a club from Ibrox the South African based criminal made a hasty retreat.

Johnstone seems to have missed that u-turn or the fact that King’s comments have made him an even bigger figure of fun among Celtic fans.

Writing in the Evening Times the former Rangers (IL) striker claimed: “He (King) said something that I didn’t agree with in terms of Celtic winning six-in-a-row. I don’t think he had to say that.

He has come out and said his piece and we have had Celtic players and the Celtic manager now coming out and saying their tuppence worth. They have taken the bait.

It shouldn’t matter what Dave King says. If you have won a Treble, you are on a high.”

Johnstone is correct on one thing- it doesn’t matter what King says.

With soft loans required in June the finances at Ibrox are in even worse condition than they were a year ago.

As the full force of defying an order from the Takeover Appeal Board kicks in at Ibrox Johnstone will discover that the damage caused by Mr King is far more deep reaching than the panto figures of Craig Whyte and Charles Green.
