Pedro’s transfer misery

Pedro Caixinha is likely to have NO new faces to work with when Sevco report for pre-season training on Monday.

Despite the carefully planned transfer frenzy to give the impression of a spending spree it’ll be a case of deja-vu when last season’s flops report back to Murray Park.

After doing the bouncy with fans and posing for selfies following the May 21 win over St Johnstone Caixinha said: “We are going to start the [pre] season on 5 June and we intend to have as many [new] players as we can in that period of time. It will be something very different next season, definitely.”

As the cones and bibs come out to prepare for the Europa League qualifier on June 29 Bruno Alves will be on international duty with Portugal while Ryan Jack prepares for his wedding on Friday.

A week of negotiating with Norwich who are desperate to bin Graham Dorrans has resulted in a headline grabbing bid of close to £1m being made.

The grapevine suggests a down payment of £250,000 with similar payments to be made in the summer of 2018 and 2019. Given their toxic credit rating Norwich have treated that bid with the contempt that it deserves.

Yesterday Carlos Pena made a brief but highly publicised trip to Glasgow before jetting back to Mexico without signing a contract.

A work permit is required where Sevco will state the case for signing the chunky midfielder- this season he has played two full games for Leon while on loan from Guadalajara.

Other Mexican’s are apparently ready to jet in but as soon as a transfer fee is mentioned interest is likely to be dropped as quickly as Motherwell priced Louis Moult out of his dream move.
