AC Milan’s interest in Moussa Dembele looks like it could be the real deal.

A report in the Daily Record claims that the Italian side are looking for a second meeting with the ‘Moussa Dembele camp’.

That sort of detail doesn’t seem special but the reporter, Craig Swan, is the only person to have carried out an interview with the players agent, Mamadi Fofana. In February Fofana described in detail the reasons for the striker moving to Celtic and his satisfaction with the move.

Brendan Rodgers has spoken a couple of times about how the move from Fulham came about a year ago but has kept quiet about the agent involved.

Getting access to Fofana wouldn’t have been easy, if there was no substance to the interest from Milan Swan will have jeopardised a valued contact.

Dembele’s adviser may simply be wanting to find out what is on the table for the striker but despite a four year contract being signed last summer Celtic won’t have too much control of the situation.

Should Dembele indicate that he is interested in a move Celtic are unlikely to be in a position to block a deal for £30m and try to hold on to an unhappy player.

There’s little doubt that the French striker has enjoyed himself over the last season but with genuine signs of interest from Milan a move could be on the cards leaving Celtic to bring in a new striker with big boots to fill.
