Scott Allan is in the dark as much as anyone about his Celtic career.

Two years ago Sevco launched a very public campaign to unsettle the Hibs midfielder in a bid to push through a cut price deal from the Championship rivals.

Talk is cheap and when Celtic came in with a proper offer business was completed with Liam Henderson moving to Easter Road where he picked up a Scottish Cup winners medal.

Allan barely got a look in at Celtic with the longer he was kept on the sidelines increasing the curiosity of his transfer from Hibs.

After a season on loan at Rotherham the midfielder will spend next season at Dundee where he’ll work under Neil McCann.

At the time I believed I was good enough to get into the Celtic team,” he told the Daily Record about his move to the hoops.

It has turned out not to be just now but I can’t regret it. I want to look forward and that means doing well here. That also means finishing in the top six and getting a good cup run.

I’m hoping to get the fans off their seats watching some good football. I don’t think I got a fair crack of the whip in my first year. I was coming off the bench quite a lot.”

After joining Celtic Allan started just two SPFL matches with one appearance in the Europa League with Ronny Deila’s squad well covered by midfielders.

Allan is under contract with Celtic until 2019.
