Chris Sutton has delivered a typically hard hitting verdict on Scotland’s 2-2 draw with England.
Despite being a former England internationalist the popular pundit has increasingly taken on the role as an ambassador for Scottish football.
Celtic’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City knocked the Pep Guardiola bandwagon for six with Gareth Southgate’s squad badly shown up at Hampden.
The result was no surprise to Sutton who, rarely for current pundits, covers the game closely on both side’s of the border and is never shy about expressing his opinions.
For all those who mock the Scottish game down south maybe a bit more respect is due…

Average players on bloated salaries were on display throughout the pitch with Celtic’s back-up striker further highlighting the declining powers of Joe Hart.
On the England bench the replacement goalkeeper made his breakthrough playing Champions League football for Celtic.
As they console themselves over retaining their unbeaten qualifying record Sutton knows that next summer in Russia another Iceland is lurking to deliver another reality check for his fellow countrymen.
