Efe Ambrose was on the receiving end of a horror tackle from Tim Chow that could easily have broken the defenders leg.

There hadn’t been any sign of bad blood between Hibs and Ross County in last night’s League Cup tie with both clubs pushing for a goal.

Ambrose had been his usual mix of wonderful and woeful with some brilliant touches on the ball and some scary passes out of defence.

As he took the ball out of defence Chow approached, after pausing for a moment the Ross County man went straight over the ball crashing into Ambrose’s right shin on his way to connecting with his left leg.

Referee Steven McLean watched from close by and quickly handed out a yellow card with barely a word said to the offender.

The match finished goal-less with former Celt Michael Gardyne scoring the winning penalty to give Ross County a bonus point.

As well as Ambrose and Gardyne former Celts Scott Fox, Marcus Fraser, Jim O’Brien and Dylan McGeoch featured in the match as well as loan Celt Jamie Lindsay.
