Dickson back to play at the top table

Despite having his fingerprints all over the governance scandals that dog Scottish football Andrew Dickson continues to climb the ladders of power at the SFA.

Last week as they announced a new board that includes Ibrox fanatics Stewart Robertson and Les Gray (nominally Hamilton Accies) the name of Dickson resurfaced as an SPFL appointment to the SFA Congress for 2017/18.

It seems that the gullibility of the SPFL clubs exceeds that of the Ibrox fan base.

After being kicked off by Campbell Ogilvie, Dickson was the man at Ibrox that liaised with the SPL and SFA over player contracts.

Dickson decided, or followed orders, not to register the full payments being made to players.

While Dave Murray pretended that he was operating EBTs based on discretionary loans handed out to players that notion was kicked into touch by the side letters that obliged the club to make ‘discretionary loans’.

For good measure Dickson also received a ‘tax free’ EBT which he will have received a demand from HMRC for income tax and national insurance.

Internal calls for internal enquiries are utterly pointless while cheats like Dickson are in operation- with the full backing of every club in the country.

What’s next- an honorary role for David Murray?

Ladbrokes, Betfred, Mire and Irn-Bru are the main sponsors of Neil Doncaster and the SPFL.
