Micky O’Halloran has escaped his Ibrox hell by rejoining St Johnstone on a six month loan.

The former Bolton ace went to Sevco in a £500,000 deal in January 2016 as Mark Warburton prepared to take the SPFL by storm.

O’Halloran however quickly fell out of favour as reality arrived with appearances few and far between.

When Pedro Caixinha replaced the former City Trader O’Halloran and Rob Kiernan found themselves on the outside looking in as traditional values were restored in a bid to get results.

After missing a Development League match O’Halloran felt the full force of the fifth best coach in Qatar as he reported for 6am training sessions and was put on the transfer list.

With no interest from elsewhere St Johnstone have got the player back for the same wages they were paying out 18 months ago with Sevco picking up the slack on his lucrative contract which runs until 2020.

Like fellow loanee Andy Halliday O’Halloran is expected to outlast Brother Pedro at Ibrox.
