Pedro ‘the winner’ Caixinha has fired out a title warning to Celtic.
The fifth best coach in Qatar has watched his side follow up a draw with Marseilles by beating Sheffield Wednesday following on from the Europa League KO by Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourg.
Caixinha took a vow of silence following the 2-0 defeat in Luxembourg, restricting his comments to Rangers TV but is now back in full flow.
After the win over Sheffield Wednesday he told the Daily Record: “At this club the only option is winning. That’s why it was important for us to conclude the week like this – with the result and the performance and how we controlled the game.
“What has changed? I don’t need to answer to you. You just look at the match report and see the players and you see the difference.
“Of course we needed to change the personality and character of the players. And having men in our squad now we have it.”
He added: “We have players who are terrific on the training pitch but when they get in a game they don’t do the same.
“But now we have players who train hard, work hard and play hard. That’s the main difference.
“But we know we were not the worst in those moments. We are not the best now. We need to keep working and focus
“I told you I am not a magician but I am someone with a strong mentality and a winning mentality to take this club forward.
“But we need time and we know we have the right tools now. I’m not a guy who gets worried about the past.”
It seems that Sevco fans have also forgotten the past with the knock out from Progres Niederkorn following on from a third place finish in the SPFL.
Back to back defeats from Celtic at Ibrox and Hampden demolished the myth of the best squad in the country forcing Caixinha into the transfer market.
