Rod Petrie has told the BBC that the SPFL will review the decade of cheating by Rangers (IL).

The Hibs chief made the comment following the AGM of the SPFL amid mounting supporter anger at the football authorities.

One of the first details of the review should be the decision by Nimmo Smith in 2012 to review contracts from November 2000 and not from July 1998 as was ordered.

The ruling from the Supreme Court that Rangers (IL) used secondary contracts rather than EBT payments is a complete game changer according to SPFL rules.

Rather than giving players discretionary loans dozens of Ibrox players had secondary contracts that weren’t declared to the football authorities with the payments liable to income tax and national insurance.

Sporting advantages and other matters are red herrings- in every match for a decade ineligible players were used. For similar offences Dundee United and Dunfermline have recently had results altered to 3-0 defeats.

No date or detail has been given on the enquiry, unbelievably today SPFL clubs voted Stewart Robertson and Andrew Dickson into office.
