Erik Sviatchenko has sent a cryptic tweet to Gary Mackay-Steven after losing a member of his car pool.

The Dane quickly found himself in the company of former Dundee United duo of Stuart Armstrong and Mackay-Steven when he joined Celtic in January 2016.

Despite playing a part in Celtic’s pre-season build up GMS was sold yesterday to Aberdeen, signing a two year contract for Derek McInnes’ side.

The former Dundee United winger was certainly a popular member of Brendan Rodgers squad but failed to make the transition to the new manager in the way that many of his team-mates achieved.

An ankle injury ruled him out of the start of last season but the first time that he appeared on a team sheet he collected a Betfred Cup winners medal as an unused substitute in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen.

After signing yesterday GMS goes straight into the Aberdeen squad for tonight’s Europa League qualifier against Siroki Brijeg at Pittodrie.
