Sevco have been fined €7,000 by UEFA.

The fine was imposed after excited fans celebrated their first ever European goal against Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourg by pelting their goalkeeper with paper missiles.

After picking up just €200,000 for qualifying for the first round, despite numerous breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations every penny is a prisoner at Ibrox.

Sevco have made no public comment on the missiles.

Fortunately for the Ibrox club they have inherited the catalogue of disciplinary sanctions that the old club amassed before going into liquidation in 2012.

Repeated outbreaks of singing anti-Catholic songs resulted in a ban on away fans for the Champions League qualifier against Malmo which was lost 2-1.

Had away fans been allowed to attend their influence could have provided Ally McCoist’s side with the push to go through on away goals.

The 2011/12 Champions League exit is widely recognised as the tipping point in the road that led to liquidation.
