Celtic’s new look Development side got the new season off to a winning start with a 3-1 win over Alloa at Lennoxtown.

Mark Hill opened the scoring but after Alloa equalised Ciaran Diver scored a double to give the hoops a well deserved win.

The match was the first work out for the squad with close to 30 players with Brendan Rodgers in Austria including goalkeeper Conor Hazard and Ross Doohan.

As well as the Development League Celtic have been drawn to play at Annan Athletic in the Irn- Bru Challenge Cup and hoping to compete in the u-19 UEFA Youth League.

If the first team reach the group phase the u-19’s will play in the same group, if the first team fail to reach the group phase they u-19’s will have two qualifying rounds to reach the knock out phase with the top two teams from each group.
