Where will Celtic finish in Champions League Group B?

There were two very different reactions from Celtic fans to yesterdays Champions League draw.

The visits of Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain to Celtic Park have got loads of fans excited while those looking to progress to the knock-out phase are fearing the worst.

What most fans can agree on is that the two matches against Anderlecht will be a great test for the club- winning that head-to-head would be a real sign of progress and could lead directly into the Europa League.

There is no middle ground between the supporters that want glamour, to see Neymar and Robert Lewandowski instead of watching Kyle Lafferty and Stevie McLean.

A couple of seasons ago they had to close the top tier for a Europa League group but with Bayern and PSG in town non season ticket holders will be queueing up to hand over the best part of £150 for three matches.

What Celtic can take from the home matches remains to be seen- despite the hype about the home record last season Celtic managed just one point of nine from the visitors to Celtic Park.

Four points this time around would be a great improvement, hopefully a tally that Anderlecht fail to match.

On the road there was lots of promise from the trips to Monchengladbach and Manchester but that will certainly be put to the test in the coming campaign especially in Munich and Paris.

With a couple of more signings the stage will be set as Brendan Rodgers’ side set out in the Champions League intent on improving on last season’s marker.
