Cole vows to fight on at Persib

Carlton Cole has done a reverse Virgil van Dijk by committing himself to Indonesian side Persib.

After a couple of matches the former Celtic striker found himself the subject of media attacks by the club owners who were unhappy about his inability to score.

Cole and Michael Essien are the star signings for Persib but after the excitement and attention of the signing it seems that the costs of the contract are making the club uncomfortable.

Cole was a surprise signing for Celtic in October 2015 when Ronny Deila found himself short of strikers.

After a week long trial a contract was agreed but without regular match practise he failed to make any impact on the team with his only goal coming in a Scottish Cup tie at Stranraer.

Personal issues saw Cole return to London in January with his Celtic deal cancelled by Brendan Rodgers.

Following four matches in the United States for Sacramento Republic after leaving Celtic Cole cut that move short with the odds stacked against him completing his year long contract with Persib.
